long week (end)

Right, so... where do i start? i suppose star wars day... i dressed accordingly mind...

had kaye booked in for some work in the afternoon, and we finished early enough to go have some afternoon cocktails.
afternoon cocktails, on a friday afternoon. cant really beat that.... but we sure did manage, coz we had afternoon cocktails... sat by a white piano... surrounded by elderly men.

fuckin amazing.

yup.

so i headed back to work to draw up saturdays tattoo, and simon came to collect me from work to head over to Liverpool street for the first Take Warning show that's happened in a good... 8, 9, maybe even 10 years.

had some time to kill, so i had dinner in a fish bar... on WILSON street!!!
(for those of u who don't understand my excitement... just read on and don't fret)

My god, the nostalgia. i cant even begin to describe. Shame there weren't that many of the old CBR about, but there was enough to make it weird and wonderful.

here's good ol' mike posing next to a super fancy poster for the night.

mikes dad came along and was singing along to his set which was
a) awesome
b) adorable
c) amazeballs

triple A.

the venue had some crazy ass old taxidermy from the bar back in the day. it was all incredible, and i wanted it all.

was a joyous night, and was great to see Babar play, coz i havent seen him play for a good 8, 9, 10 years too.

here's a swanky pic of mike, craig, oli and barbar i did with my swanky new phone which i still haven't grown tired of.

so that was that.

on Saturday, Rory surprised me at work with a slice of cake. totally made my day...

and on sunday, me n simon went for a roast in highgate. wasn't sure i'd even leave barnet, as the tube is down, and i gotta bus it everywhere, but seeing as today is a bank holiday, i figured i'd go stir crazy if i didn't leave my comfortable concrete encasement...

was good to get out, even if i did have to get buses everywhere and waste a heap of time...

rad door knocker we passed.

and cute print out reservation for our table!

i figured i'd go for the beef, seeing as simon is my red meat coach ... but i met the meat... and we didnt get along so well. in fact... i think the conversation went something like this (between me and simon... not me and the meat....to clarify)

S: how is it?
J : i am getting disturbed by the noises i can hear in my mouth when i chew that i have never heard before.
S : i dont even know what that means.

anyways, i gave it my all.... and milo was lucky enough to witness 'my all' not really being much... coz i think he ate more meat than me. and didn't even chew. i need to figure out how he does it... coz that seemed to be my main mental obstacle (besides the fact a knife couldn't cut through said beef.... ) but the fact i chewed one piece over 40 times, and STILL had to swallow it whole... just seems wrong to me.
but what do i know, i'm new to eating this beef mallarcky.

anyways... then i had dessert...

i gave it my all, and simon was lucky enough to witness 'my all' not really being much... coz he had to finish it off.

so then we went to what i think i can catagorically say was the worst pub in hightgate... before ending up in what i reckon is the weirdest....

nice ... weird... little pub crawl.

today i am not leaving barnet. i have been mooching, and doing laundry, and hanging paintings,  and scrubbing moss off my terrace, and beating my sonic high score on sega, and watching documentaries, and walking the dog... i actually got a lot done today... and it's only 3pm.

time for a nap maybe.

til next time.

PUT THE MONEY IN THE CUP!

in other news, here's the tattoo i did on my mate, Eric after work last night....

he let me go to town with the colour scheme, and i'm glad i did it like this. liking the way this looks a lot.

i also had time today to finish the painting i started yesterday...

look at me... being all productive.

seems sulphur aint the only thing for the soul.
cake is the new sulphur perhaps.

wow

Double feature

So.... yesterday i went to Maidstone to get my other foot tattooed.

Here they are (the left foot needs a touch up, but we're gonna wait n see how the right heals first)

i cant describe how excited i was when i came up with this idea....

so glad to have them done~ :)

here's Jay...

god, i seriously love having an i phone.

i've been photographing everything (seriously... even more than normal which is no mean feat)

oh, and got some cypher done on my fingers yesterday too...

i'll leave y'all guessing with that one.

anyways, working late tonight tattooing a friend, so hopefully have a pic to post tomorrow too.

til next time... careful not to burn down ur chambers of reflection. that would never do.

oh my god, just realised this post is number 666!

how fucking apt!

wonders never cease.

life in general

so, been a while since my last post, and I've been up to an awful lot.... so here goes....

Over the weekend me and my buddy Scotty had tickets to go see We are the Physics play upstairs at the Garage... I then discovered that another gig was downstairs that a heap of my friends were going to.... so Scotty decided we should get tickets for that too.... and in his words "have a mini festival".

Didnt really go to plan, because we couldn't get re-entry for upstairs, so we stayed til the band we wanted to watch played,

then headed downstairs for the Inner Terrestrials set. Was nice seeing so many old friends.

i also got a photo with a man dressed as a banana....

was pretty drunk by that point... but remember running down the road yelling "banana man! wait!!!!"

he waited alright.

last Sunday Rory, Simon and myself walked all through highgate to The Spaniards for a pretty epic roast. The walk was really nice, passing incredible houses worth at least 3 million quid. Milo seemed to enjoy pissing on the very expensive walls outside these very expensive residences.

yup.

we got lucky with the weather, for a while, and Milo made himself at home on the table next to my Elderflower cider.

Anyways, as good as the weather was, like everything in life, it turned shitty... so we headed back to Highgate, and nipped in the Oxfam bookshop for shelter.

i picked up a book which i am really enjoying...

only started it this week and i'm almost through it

"Rory has pulled off something rather special"

indeed.

We ended up in another little pub, waiting for the rain to give in... and i got chatted up by a weird old man, who said "whats the difference between intelligent conversation and sex?"
...
"come lie down with me and we'll talk about it"

nice.

he had a pretty badass old school tattoo...

and felt the need to pretend like he had lost a hand in the war...

he hadn't.

i remember both his hands touching me as he 'squeezed' past.

So then we went to the Flask for a few more drinks.... then the Woodman.... for a few more drinks.

Typical Sunday really.

On Tuesday i was surprised to find my Dad would be in London... so after what i can only describe as a god awful dentists appointment, i took him the The Arkley for lunch...

he seemed pretty bummed that Milo didn't seem to recognise him...

but Milo was his lovely self, and settled on his lap which seemed to rectify any wrongs.

Lunch was awesome...

So later in the week i went to a double screening of the Wicker Man and the Wicker Tree (which u dont want to watch) with an audience with the legend that is Robin Hardy

Yesterday Hana came down for the night, which was amazing. So good to see her again. Missed that gal.

Luckily i could get outta work pretty early, tattooed her...

and we went to Camden to pick her up a skateboard...

it rides so smooth, i'm glad i get to babysit it while she's outta London.

So we went for lunch too, which was ... interesting. Had some sort of risotto balls.

and coffee, and free cake.

cant complain.

Also got her a set of keys cut for my flat....
The key place has less than inviting signage...

So then we headed back to mine, (where i attempted to teach Hana the tequnique to getting my front door open.... but kinda just ended up making inappropriate comments and sex noises what with all the 'in out' fiddly nonsense.) We went for a skate but couldn't go to my usual patch of concrete due to some weird inexplicable mass of traffic. ah well, had a little roll about, then got ready to go to what i heard was a Blugrass gig.

i wouldnt call it Bluegrass.

No way, Jose.

Was a fun night though, we made Walrus noises, talked optilingus, generally freaked out Paul.

The usual.

This morning we went to the park....

awesome start to a day which i can only imagine will end just as awesome...

only going to watch MxPx later.

*gush*

in with the old and out with the new

so... what's been happening. i got an i phone.... that's what. it's pretty rad. i wanted one for ages, and now.... finally.... the time has come. the camera is so much better than my ghetto ass blackberry. very pleased.

here's some photos...

it's cool coz some of my best friends have just got i phones too, so we r all being geek turds together.

and we ALL seem to be having a hard time with auto correct! haha

in other news, i baked a pretty sweet (oh, the pun.....) cake on tuesday...

so sweet in fact, i got a text message verification at half 1 in the morning... haha

best text message ever.

right, so i have also been working this week....

did this on Kaye...

who got me the coolest brooch! it's clay! it's so old time folky i friggin' adore it...

wow, the whole in my lip is still crazy visible. i havent had anything in that for YEARS. not used to seeing myself smiling from down there....

anyways, then yesterday i tattooed Russell who came from afar. we r facebook buddies, so was nice to meet him ... finally. slightly worrying that he called me 'mental'... only for me to find out he works in a mental institute. worrying. very worrying. well he cant think i'm THAT mental or he wouldnt have let me go near him with needles, and ink... n stuff.

anyways, we did this super fun cover up... well 'we' didnt. i did. sounding mental now....

i'll leave it at that.
